StoryWorks: a new collaboration with WIHSC

February 25, 2009

StoryWorks has been established to support public service organisations interested in using people’s stories to improve what they do. Stories offer huge potential to reveal what people really experience from service providers, and what they actually want. First hand accounts, in people’s own words, can be a uniquely powerful way of ‘hearing it like it is’. Based at the University of Glamorgan’s Welsh Institute for Health and Social Care (WIHSC), StoryWorks is a collaboration between two faculties – Health, Sport & Science and Creative & Cultural Industries (and specifically the George Ewart Evans Centre for Storytelling). The University’s Commercial Services Office is supporting the venture. StoryWorks is led by Karen Lewis, under the stewardship of a management board consisting of Professor Maggie Kirk, Professor Marcus Longley, Professor Hamish Fyfe and Professor Mike Wilson.
